In January of 2024, I felt lost. I was a former youth athlete, but like so many of us, I lost any kind of structure and form to exercise and team sports after high school. My work was consuming my life and I felt like I had no time, energy, or motivation to take care of myself. My amazing mother gifted me a few sessions with Mike and Kate, and I was nervous at first. To be quite frank, I was embarrassed where my fitness level was. Mike and Kate took me in with no judgement. We started by doing an assessment of how my body moved doing different exercises. From there, they tailored a program to my specific abilities, and we quickly got to work.  

When we started, I could barely do a half push-up. I was getting winded easily. It was hard to show up, but I did it, with their motivation. Their attitude to health and wellness was so fresh and inspiring. It wasn’t about how I looked, it was about how I felt. How exercising had so many other benefits other than losing weight. I’ll be honest, that was one of my goals, but I also wanted to just feel good - now and in the future. Mike and Kate have helped me get there. 

I’m so proud of what I have accomplished working with Mike and Kate. I can do plenty of push ups, hold a plank for 1 minute, go for runs at the track, and lift weights. Things that, in January 2024, seemed impossible. 

You get so much more than just an exercise session with Mike and Kate. You get all the other supports they provide - tips, recipes, goal setting, resources, links to where you can buy certain equipment, etc. They’re also super adaptive if you can’t buy the equipment. They facilitate using the items you have in your house - just last week I was using my broom in my workout! The first time it had been used in a while, if I’m being honest… 

Mike and Kate provide emotional support, as they hold a deep understanding of how challenging it can be to change habits. They preach the importance of showing up for yourself. When I work with Mike and Kate, I’m able to show up for myself in so many ways in life - not just in my fitness journey. I’m more energetic, I feel happier, I feel proud. When I work out with Mike and Kate, I am a better partner, a better daughter, a better sister, a better dog mom. Exercising with them facilitates so much positive change in my life, and I am so grateful to be working with them. I can’t begin to recommend them enough.
